Following the incident where an OKU man was severely beaten up after he had crashed into a stall at a market in Terengganu, many have taken to social media to share their own experiences of how differently-abled community members require patience and empathy.
Among them is a Malaysian woman who explained how her mother had become differently-abled after going through 18 pregnancies.
The woman, FiqahSuha, took to her TikTok account to share her mother’s story.
She wrote, “As a person from Terengganu, I feel shameful and saddened (by the market incident).”
FiqahSuha shared how her mother had become differently-abled due to memory loss following complications during her most recent delivery, as her heart had stopped for 10 minutes.
“My mother is also OKU. She lost her memory because of complications when she was giving birth to her 18th baby in 2010,”
“Honestly speaking, only those who sincerely care for these special people can be patient no matter what happens. It isn’t easy to beat them up even if your life is at stake. We are blessed with common sense, while they are being tested. Love and have mercy for them until the end of their lives,” she added.
In the comment section of her post, FiqahSuha clarified that, among the 18 births her mother endured, she has 14 living children, 1 deceased child and 3 miscarriages.
Many were shocked to hear that her mother had endured 18 pregnancies.
“Your mum is great, she can endure 18 pregnancies. Take care of her well.”
“Allah, an 18th baby. I hope aunty stays strong. She still looks young and beautiful.”
“Your mum sacrificed greatly. May all of the children she gave birth to take care of her until the end of her lifetime.”
