Some Malaysians have no sense of responsibility when it comes to free stuff provided by the government to ensure we lead comfortable lives.

Taking to social media, Majlis Agama Islam Johor (MAIJ) shared such a story when a previous tenant from hell left a transit home in shambles after staying there for two years, free-of-charge.

Transit homes are housing units provided by the government to aid those in need of homes for a duration of two years before moving out on their own.

Through its Facebook page, MAIJ writes, “It is disheartening to see when free housing is left in such a state.”

“Extensive cleaning and repairs were carried out; replacing doors, repainting, and the installation of rubber mats.”

Look, we know that getting free stuff is good because we feel that we deserve it. The least we can do as human beings is to show a bit of gratitude by taking good care, especially if other people will be using them in the future.
