How lucky are we to have a roof over our heads, clothes on our back, shoes on our feet and a stomach that’s never known true hunger. However, there are those that aren’t so lucky and helping them in any way we can is a reward no basic need can fulfill.

Kuan Chee Heng, also known as Uncle Kentang, has taken an initiative to help those in need by opening a public kitchen for the less fortunate. Called Dapur Umum Rakyat Puchong, the kitchen serves free food for those in Puchong that cannot afford to eat.

He posted about it on his Facebook  page and this is what he wrote.

“If you’re hungry and have no money, only in Puchong we are opening a public kitchen. Now you can come and fill your stomach. It is something small we are able to do, because I understand what it means to be broke and hungry.”

“I have been through it all, quenching my hunger by just swallowing my saliva. Projek Dapur Umum in Puchong Perdana has successfully given food to those who are hungry, and if you want to donate RM5 for their food, you can bank in the money to my account, 7015170449 CIMB Kuan Chee Heng, reference ‘Lapar’. The kitchen is located at Warung No.5, LRT Puchong Perdana. We also welcome those who want to take this project over and supervise the hungry. Call me at 018-2683999.”
