When times are tough, people often have to resort to the goodwill of the public to raise funds.

A mother of 3 children is in urgent need of RM53,000 so that she can undergo treatment as she is enduring leukemia which is also known as a blood cancer.

In a post by an NGO called Persatuan Kebajikan Jaringan Amal, on Facebook, they detailed how the patient named Nur Syafiqah Binti Safian is a mother of 3 children.

Pn. Nur Syafiqah Binti Safian adalah seorang ibu kepada tiga orang cahaya mata, Mysha (6), Mishary (4) dan Mardiya (2)….

Syafiqah is a full time housewife whose husband quit his job at a private housing developer company in November 2021 to care for her.

The post says that Syafiqah had been diagnosed with blood cancer by the Kuala Lumpur Hospital which is a disease that causes white blood cell mutations due to radiation, stress and pollution.

“This cancer can happen to anyone and Syafiqah happened to be one of them.”

However, after her 2nd chemotherapy session, they found bleeding in the brain which caused her brain to swell and she had to undergo brain surgery (EVD) to remove the excess fluid.

This caused her heart to stop for a several minutes, but fortunately, she regained life but remains in a weak state.

“Although she is weak, her current condition is stable and she is currently in the process of recovery and rehabilitation. After her situation gets better, only will she continue with her Haema-Stem Cell Transplant Allogeneic procedure which is scheduled for 10 April,” they explained.

The post added that her little sister has donated more than 8,000,000 stem cells which were taken from her bone marrow as it met the characteristics required by the hospital.

“Here, Syafiqah is appealing and hopes for mercy from Malaysians to contribute to the cost of transplant treatment amounting to RM53,000. An enormous amount for her family to face at this point in the family’s precarious economic situation.”

“With her situation of not working and her husband having to quit his job, their financial situation is very fragile. She really hopes to return to normal life as before. What worries her the most is the future of her little ones who could lose their mother whilst they are still too young to understand anything,” it added.
