Startled by a stench in her car that made her gag, a Malaysian woman stepped out to investigate the source.

She knew something was stuck under her car, probably lifeless by the time she found it, and she was proven right.

She discovered a dead monitor lizard lodged in the engine and had to seek help to remove the carcass.

In the viral post on her TikTok account @fangten, which has garnered more than 1.1 million views at the time of writing, Fatin visited a car wash to kill two birds with one stone by removing the dead lizard and cleaning the car to eliminate the stench.

The carcass was successfully removed, but the stench remained

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Fatin, who was shocked after seeing the dead monitor lizard, said that she initially washed her car at the gas station on Jalan Genting Klang, where the carcass was also removed.

As the overpowering stench remained, she stopped by Pavilion Bukit Bintang and spent another RM85 for a car wash, but to no avail. Fatin still gagged when she entered her car, as shown in her other TikTok video.

“I thought the smell came from the mall”

In the incident that happened on 4 January, Fatin said she was headed back to Kuala Lumpur from Terengganu, but dropped by KL East Mall for a meal. The stench emerged when she returned to her car.

She stated, “I smelled something funny, and I thought it was from the mall, so I brushed it off. I kept smelling until I found it was coming from my left tyre, and I suspected a dead rat before it turned out to be a dead monitor lizard.”

Fatin also told WORLD OF BUZZ that she tried to remove the dead animal herself, but was too afraid and disgusted to do so.

“Thank goodness for the Abang car wash who helped to remove the animal, otherwise I wouldn’t have known what to do,” Fatin laughed.
