Taking care of the elderly is not always easy, but that is not a reason to be disrespecting them and cursing at them.

On 28 February, a 26-year-old woman by the name of Eva has witnessed a distressing incident when she was on her way to a veterinary clinic located near Masjid Putra Nilai.

“As I got down from my car, I heard a mak cik shouting at her mother as she had accidentally spilled some drinks in the car.”

Eva says that the shouting woman looks like she is in her late 40s/50s, so her tongkat-using mother should be way older. As it was near a mosque, many people saw the woman curse at her elderly mother loudly.

Adding to that, Eva said that the old woman just sat there quietly while her daughter scolds her in the presence of her grandchildren and shames her publicly.

Eva was heartbroken to see what was going on in front of her, so she went over and said,

“You should be careful with your words and not speak to your mother like that.”

The woman ignored Eva and continued with what she was doing. When she was done wiping the car, she threw all of the used tissues and the spilt drink on the road and drove off.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Eva couldn’t clearly make out what cusswords the woman had used, but she heard her use “sial” which is equivalent to pesky or wretched.

Even though Eva was unable to make out most of the expletives, it was clear as day that the woman was taking her anger out on her mother.

The 26-year-old said that her purpose for bringing this issue up is because she believes that no matter the mistake, one should not get so worked up and degrade anyone like that in public, much less their parents. She added,

“No matter who, what or how old you are, please respect others if you want to be respected.”

Time goes by fast so, cherish your time with your parents when they are still here.
