Earlier this week, a man had accidentally dropped his wallet while at a restaurant in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. You would think that whoever found the wallet would find his IC and return his wallet to him, right? Wrong.

It turns out that a young couple had not only picked up the wallet, but they then went on a shopping spree using the the man’s credit card.

According to a report by Guang Ming Daily, the man did not even notice his wallet was missing until 2 days later, as he was used to making payments with his mobile phone. He only realised it was gone when he checked his credit card bill and found that it had been used numerous times over 17 and 18 March.

After freezing the card and armed with a police report, the man then went to all the locations where the card was used and obtained CCTV footage of the couple that had been using his card.

Based on a report by China Press, they contacted the man to let him know that they would return the card and compensate him for his losses should he take the social media post down, to which the man agreed.

The man has since called for netizens to react rationally as the couple has admitted their mistake.
