There have been numerous reports of girls being stalked recently. Stalking has resulted in several assaults, causing concern and fear among many Malaysians, with some feeling hesitant to leave their houses alone.

In a recent tweet by user @missalvy__, she shared a video of a horrifying experience that she had to endure while she was out in Mont Kiara area.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Alvy mentioned that at first, she didn’t pay much attention to it. She explained that she wanted to ensure she wasn’t being paranoid, so she went into various shops to check if the man was still following her.

“I recall seeing a TikTok video suggesting that if you feel someone is following you, pretend to be on a video call with a friend. Following this advice, I began recording the situation.”

Alvy then chose to approach the man and inquire if he was genuinely following her, to which he denied and changed direction, creating the impression that he wasn’t following her.

“He deliberately walked in another direction to create the impression that he wasn’t trying to follow me. But even after he left, I realised he was still trailing me.”

She revealed that, in a spontaneous decision, she opted to seek refuge at a nearby cafe to make a call to her friend. After a while, the man eventually went away.

“My advice to all the girls out there is to always have an emergency call on you, carry pepper spray, and if something like this happens, the first thing you should do is go to places where there are people and ask for help. Also, be sure to take a video so that when you make a report, the process will be a lot smoother.”
