Children will always want to do things that appear fun to them, but it is the responsibility of their parents to prevent them from doing these ‘fun activities’ if it is dangerous or detrimental to their safety and health.

One of these ‘fun activities’ that should always be avoided is sitting, or partially sitting, outside of moving vehicles.

The Jabatan Siasatan dan Penguatkuasa Trafik (JSPT) shared a video on their Facebook page of 3 children sitting on the window frame of a moving Perodua Alza with the entire upper part of their body out of the window!

They shared, “The JSPT found a viral video about a Perodua Alza carrying passengers, believed to be 3 children, with half of their bodies outside of the front passenger side and left and right passenger sides of a moving vehicle. Their actions are very dangerous and can lead to accidents.”

They have since identified the vehicle and will be taking the appropriate action against the driver or parents/guardians of the children based on:

1. Section 336 of the Penal Code (Act 574) – Acts endangering the life or safety of others,
2. Section 31(1) of the Children Act 2001- Abuse, neglect of children.

“JSPT reminds all drivers who ferry children to always ensure the safety of the children under their care and control.”

“In the event of negligence by the driver on non-compliance with safety rules while ferrying children, legal action can be taken against the driver and the parents or guardians”, they added.

Netizens are enraged with the parents!

Netizens were not too impressed with the parents of the children.

“Where are the brains of the parents who allow their kids to sit like that?”

Car 4

“Scary. Don’t you love your children?”

Car 5

“I think this is the Jalan Reko, Kajang area. There are indeed parents like this who let their kids sit as such. Plus they’re speeding. Shameful parents.”

In situations like this, it’s always better to be safer than sorry, especially when the vehicle is moving as fast as the one in video.

Would you ever allow your children to ride on the window like this? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
