Admit it. We’ve told at least one white lie to our parents to avoid nagging. Sometimes, we tend to keep the price of an item a secret or lower the actual amount.

And that was what the founder of a burger chain store did recently. Syukor Majid, the founder of Syukor Burger recently bought a Tumbler from Starbucks for his mother which cost RM200. However, the entrepreneur did not reveal the actual price of the Tumbler to his mother. When asked, Syukor simply told his mother that the Tumbler is only RM20.

Yeah, we wish there is indeed a Starbucks Tumbler THAT cheap!

In his Facebook post, Syukor stated that he was having a drink with his mother at Starbucks and she was attracted by the designs of the Tumblers. Without any hesitation, Syukor bought one for his mother.

“If I told her the actual price, she would’ve said no,” Syukor said.

With every action comes a consequence

Who knew Syukor’s white lie would cost him more visits to Starbucks? As his mother believed that the Tumbler was only RM20, she has since become a collector of Starbucks Tumblers. That means Syukor will need to get his mother a new one every time he visits the coffee chain if she sees any new or interesting designs.

“As of today (January 9), she has 5 Tumblers already, including the latest design for CNY,” he added.

At the end of his post, Syukor expressed his thought about being honest to his mother about the actual price of the Tumblers.

“I think it’s time I tell her the price of the Tumblers.”

Has Syukor eventually decided to be honest with his mother? We guess he didn’t really have to.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Syukor said that his mom found out about the actual price of the Starbucks Tumblers after his Facebook post circulated on social media.

At the time of writing, his post has garnered more than 35,000 likes and more than 5,300 shares.

Not only that but his mother’s collection did not stop there. Syukor told WORLD OF BUZZ that his mother now has a total of 7 Starbucks Tumblers!

“I bought her 2 more Tumblers yesterday (January 11). She’s also shy because her face is all over social media right now,” Syukor said.

Hari tu bawak mak abang minum kat Starbucks. Dia berkenan tengok tumbler Starbucks, boleh bawak pi mengaji…

The prices of a Starbucks Tumbler vary, but they’re definitely expensive. Regardless, as long as it puts a smile on your mother’s face, then nothing else really matters.

Have you ever told a white lie to your parents after buying something fancy for them? What was the thing that you bought which made your parents the happiest?
