Some people bear resemblance to celebrities or famous figures, just as Yi Long Ma, a man in China who looks like Elon Musk. Recently, Maszlee Malik revealed that he has been mistaken for someone else, and you’ll never guess who.

In his Twitter post yesterday (December 25), the former Minister of Education shared that a portrait of his on a shelf in his office was mistaken for that of a deceased historical figure.

Maszlee’s daughter was having an online video meeting with her Professor in Maszlee’s office and when the Professor glanced upon the portrait, she exclaimed:

“Oh, never thought you’re an admirer of Chairman Mao!”

Mao Zedong

The late Chairman Mao Ze Dong was a Chinese communist revolutionary, and also the former President of the Republic of China. He passed away in 1976.

Maszlee’s tweet gained the attention of many Malaysians who expressed their concern about the daughter’s Professor, and some even urged Maszlee to look for a new Uni for his daughter.

“Chairman Mao? You have to lecture her Professor.”

In a tweet, Maszlee revealed that the Professor is from a private university in Washington DC – Georgetown University.

“How could the professor not differentiate between Chairman Mao and Maszlee Malik? Your daughter should immediately correct the Professor and embarrass her.”

“What professor is that? She needs to get her eyes checked.”

In the meantime, some netizens revealed that following the Prof’s statement, they noticed that Maszlee shares the same vibe with the late Chairman Mao.

Fellow Malaysians, Maszlee may not bear any resemblance to the late Chairman Mao, but do you think both of them at least carry the same vibes?
