Keretapi Sarong is an event where Malaysians from all walks of life come together dressed in sarongs and traditional costumes, filling up trains, LRTs, MRTs, and monorails across the city to celebrate unity and diversity.

Wanting to up the ante, a group of marching band members en route to the event decided to liven up the mood by playing their instruments on the train.

Uploaded by netizen @cikguhzura, the video begins with the conductor signaling his team to start their performance. As soon as they begin, they launch straight into a rendition of Keranamu Malaysia — a meaningful tune that reflects the patriotic spirit surrounding the Keretapi Sarong event.

But this isn’t the only Keretapi Sarong video making rounds on social media.

On a train along the Kempas–Kluang line, another group was seen having a blast dancing on their way to the event.

With many taking to the streets to celebrate Keretapi Sarong, those who couldn’t join in expressed their interest in participating in 2026.

Netizens had this to say:

“What a way to celebrate national unity and diversity.”

Another said, “I wish I knew about this earlier and joined in.”
