Omega is a name that has massive stature in the watch world because of its watchmaking heritage and the high value it can command – which can reach thousands of Ringgit.

Taking the world by storm as recently as today, Omega announced its latest endeavour in the watchmaking world when they collaborated with Swatch and gave birth to the new MoonSwatch based on the world-famous Omega Speedmastter.

Now, for those who may not know what a Speedmaster is, it is basically a watch that astronauts wore in their voyage to the moon, and it has hit the world by storm, including Malaysia.

Available at selected Swatch outlets around the world, in Malaysia, those who wanted to get their hands on the cheapest Omega to date, had to go to Pavilion – which naturally witnessed a huge turnout, with a long line snaking around the concourse area.

Available in 11 designs, the focus of watch fans may be on the ‘original’ Moon design Omega x Swatch, which closely resembles its expensive big brother, priced at RM1,065.

And this is not just happening here in Malaysia, but around the world. In Swatch’s attempt to stop scalpers from cornering the grey market it limited sales of the watch to 2 units per customer.

Who could blame them? It is definitely a looker.
