The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has opened investigation papers on the spread of the letter of commitment to GE15 candidates within UMNO.

Based on a report by BERNAMA TV, the letter states that GE15 candidates must remain in support of the UMNO President, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, becoming the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Letter 1

Barisan Nasional (BN) Communications Director, Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah has since insisted that the document, in which UMNO and BN candidates contesting in GE15 allegedly must sign, is fake. He added that the letter was created through malicious efforts by irresponsible parties in order to discredit UMNO and BN.

“it is confirmed that the pledge that is being spread and is going viral is false and untrue. No such pledge was made,”

“I ask that Malaysians who have this received this fake letter to not be influenced by it. My party is very sorry for these political games,” he said.

Letter 2

The document had earlier gone viral, containing a list of commitments signed by Shamsul Anuar, who is nominated for the BN seat in the Lenggong Parliament.

The document with the UMNO Letterhead displayed the signatures of UMNO President, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the party’s Secretary General, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.

Stay tuned for more updates.
