Hey Alexa, play Leave The Door Open, please?

With Malaysians undergoing the second day of the total lockdown, it’s safe to say, the anxiety that came with the lockdown last year has started to creep back into Malaysians. The fluctuating number of Covid-19 cases on a daily basis hasn’t put our fears at rest either.

There’s no denying that the government has been on the receiving end of criticisms ever since they came into power last year. However, it seems like this prominent Minister finally has a message for Malaysians. Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri has left thousands of Malaysians confused after he posted a cryptic Facebook post of him closing the door with an even more confusing caption to accompany.

“I’ve closed the front door but….”

His post quickly went viral garnering almost 3.5K shares with netizens having a field day in the comments. While some sympathized with the minister for all his hard work in structuring lockdown SOPs, others assumed that the minister was referring to the infamous “backdoor government” incident.

“We can see how tired he is. Hopefully we’re all protected by Allah and Covid-19 is lifted from Malaysia.”

“Tok Mail, you can’t only close the front door, but you must make sure the back door is also closed. Only then, there will be no infiltration.”

“You have to be strict Paklong if not everyone’s sacrifice will seem meaningless. If you’re planning to close the front door, make sure the back door is closed as well.”

“I think its best if you just resign Dato. This government is just making use of you and inadvertently ruining the name of UMNO. But I’m confident that the rakyat knows who are the real Muhyiddin and Azmin Ali.”
