There are 2 kinds of people in this world: those who would jump at any opportunity to hold a baby (and hog them!) and those who would turn down every chance they get of even touching one.
This man, who recently went viral on TikTok for his hilarious reactions while holding his baby niece is the second kind!
In the video by @umairaaray, she can be seen making the man, her brother-in-law, hold her baby on multiple occasions.
On all occasions, he appeared terrified as he pleaded with Umaira to take the baby from his arms.
He can be seen nervously repeating phrases such as, “He’s squishy“, “Take him!“, “Please!” and “He’ll fall”
At one point, the poor dude even said, “Adik, she’s moving” to which Umaira just replied with, “This is practice for you”.
So, that was the entire compilation video. The man scared out of his wits of holding a baby and the baby momma insisting that he tries, accompanied by a background sound of a wheezing laugh.
Netizens love a good laugh
With 6.5 MILLION views to the video, more than half a million likes and almost 10,000 comments, it is clear that netizens found the video hilarious.
“Luckily the baby didn’t cry. If she cried, the man will confirm panic.”
One exchange that they found particularly funny is when Umaira said, “She’s okay” as she refers to the baby, implying that there is nothing to be worried about.
The man responded with, “Of course he is okay. It’s me” which cracked netizens up.
Many also resonated with the man’s fear of holding a baby and shared their various experiences.
“I’m also like this. My cousin gave birth and asked us to hold her baby. I ran far away.”
“I’m scared of holding babies below the age of 6 months. My hands are rough. What if something happens to somebody’s child? How am I to find a replacement? It’s not like it’s sold on Shopee.”
“My dad. When I had my baby girl, my dad didn’t dare touch her. He waited till she was 2 months old before he held her. When I gave birth to my son, he straight away carried him?. My dad doesn’t have a son.”
Finally, one netizen pointed out that “people like this are better than those who are overconfident when holding babies, so much so that they often don’t support the baby’s head”.
