Everyone who takes public transport in Malaysia knows just how unreliable it can be sometimes, causing people to be late for appointments and be stranded for hours on end.

While many have gotten used to this, it still doesn’t mean that it’s not frustrating to endure.

The ISU SEMASA VIRAL Twitter page recently tried to defend a RapidKL bus driver after she had arrived 2 hours late, causing passengers who were waiting for the bus to be stranded under heavy rainfall. They also chastised a passenger for scolding the bus driver for being late.

They wrote, “Do you think that working on the road means that they’re enduring the same thing everyday? On the road, all kinds of things can happen. If you want to be quick, take a Grab.”

Along with their post, they showcased a video of one of the passengers that had been waiting under the rain scolding the bus driver, accusing her of sleeping on the job and that that was why the bus was late. The bus was supposed to arrive at 2:30pm but only arrived at 4:20pm instead, almost 2 hours past the scheduled time.

Netizens have since condemned ISU SEMASA VIRAL for chastising the passenger, adding that they probably do not understand the plight of those who have to rely on public transport for their daily commutes.

“Only those who take the bus on a daily basis will understand this feeling. The buses are supposed to be every 40 minutes (at most). If it’s 2 hours? How many trips have they missed? To me, the passengers have the right to be angry.”

Bus 2

“2 hours late also you feel there’s no problem? 2 hours.”

Bus 3

“Buses are public transport, not everyone can afford to take a Grab or buy their own car. I’ve once gotten a warning letter from my management for being late because the KTM was never on time. So, I can relate to the bus being late. It’s difficult, please don’t be like this anymore.”

Bus 4

“Why do you want to scold the passenger? He should be angry. 2 hours la. It’s not acceptable. How are we going to improve these things if we forgive and close our eyes?”
