Netflix is a boon for personal entertainment allowing access to your favourite shows available at the push of your remote or a tap on your screen.

Understanding the growing demand, some ‘criminals’ have begun to turn at Netflix as a way to make money.

A concerned Malaysian took to Twitter to complain about sellers offering Netflix accounts for as low as RM10 and urged the public not to buy these accounts as they belong to unsuspecting users who have been hacked.

It is important to note that Netflix’s lowest package offer starts at RM33 and can reach up to RM51 a month. Plus, if you’re sharing it with 4 users, that’s only makes it RM12+ a month!

In her thread, she adds that these scammers should exercise empathy, especially to those who pay a premium to get such services only to be hacked for their benefit.

One respondent shared an image of his hacked account, with viewership coming from multiple places at one time.

@aidanurariza checked her account and found out that it’s being used in Sarawak and Johor when she resides in KL.

To find out if others are using your account, navigate to account > menu > recent device streaming.

If you spot questionable activity, the first action one can take, according to Netflix, is to change your passwords and to disconnect from all devices.
