Located at the heart of Petaling Jaya, Avanté Hotel is a modern luxury hotel featuring heaps of attractions such as a sky deck, a pool bar, ball rooms, and an infinity saltwater swimming pool that overlooks the cities. The hotel is also connected to One Utama shopping mall as well as Bandar Utama MRT station – making it very well convenient.
Starting 2 July 2022, a fitness centre called CHXpress Fitness has also opened its doors to guests. Other than fitness facilities and activities that are suitable for hotel guests, travellers and working professionals, the centre also provides beauty and wellness services.
WORLD OF BUZZ had the opportunity to visit CHXpress Fitness for its official launch, and the 10,000-square feet spacious gym really caught our eyes. The centre also features tons of exceptional gym equipment like the Star Trac FreeRunner treadmills and Zumba space. The even greater thing about all these? It’s that the centre is open 24 hours!
There are also 30-minutes signature classes, running tracks, virtual classes available at the gym, as well as facial or massage treatments at the Beauty & Wellness Centre, which is just right beside the fitness centre.
CHXpress Fitness is owned by Clark Hatch Fitness, a fitness centre pioneer in Malaysia for 36 years and still counting. Present at the official opening ceremony to officiate the event include the Director of AVANTÉ Hotel Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr.) Teo Chiang Liang and President of Clark Hatch International, Mr Randy Bozeman, and other VIPs.
The event started off with a little Zumba dance performance from the Zumba coaches, and then the speech of the President of Clark Hatch International, Mr Randy Bozeman. According to Bozeman, exercising should be encouraged for everyone for at least thirty minutes, three times a week.
“Especially with the pandemic, health has become very important,” said Bozeman. He also expressed gratitude to the VIPs as well as other members for completing the construction of the fitness centre wonderfully in such a short period of time.
In his speech, the Director of AVANTÉ Hotel Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr.) Teo Chiang Liang said that the gym is great for not only working individuals but parents as well. “We have a kiddies club, probably the largest in our country,” said Tan Sri Dato Teo. Thus, other than working out in the fitness centre, the parents can also bring their kids to the kiddies club, a huge and well-designed children’s playroom with toys as well as a ball pit playground slide.
After the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, we were delighted by another Hip-hop Zumba and singing performance. There were also two lucky draw sessions, where many guests including the members of the gym got to win awesome prizes like gym equipment, beauty products, Bluetooth headphones, free hi-tea packages as well as a free one-night stay at the hotel.
Since it’s the gym’s official launch, the ceremony ended with some fun workout games for the guests to win prizes. The “contestants” were involved in two different games, in which they showed sportsmanship, agility and great strengths.
