When it comes to marriage and love, it definitely takes a lot of sacrifice and compromising. Fortunately for this Malaysian couple, their hard work paid off. Dr. Ahmad Samhan has recently shared his touching story about his love story with his wife on his Facebook page.

In his post he mentioned how his wife always had the dream of celebrating her birthday at Mekah. He knew that it was her dream and always hoped that God will choose them and allow them to go.

He could only afford a carton of eggs

“We met when we were in our 3rd year in medical school. It was definitely hard starting a family when you’re still studying. There was a time in our life where we had no money at all, I could only afford a carton of eggs”, he said.

He didn’t want to ask his father for money because to him it seemed ridiculous. He told his wife,

“Sayang, I can only afford a carton of eggs this month, do you think it’s okay if we share an egg together and have it with rice, and soy sauce?”

She said, “that’s enough for the both of us”, then she proceeded to get a marker pen out, labelling numbers on our eggs so we could keep track.

“Not going to lie, her actions made me tear,” he said.

Another hardship after 7 years

Fast forward 7 years later, another hardship fell on them. “I was diagnosed with a jaw tumor and because of the surgery I had to go through, I was bed ridden for a while”.

“I wasn’t able to talk, I had to drink milk through a tube inserted through my nose and had to urinate through a tube”, he mentioned.

Even then, she did not give up on me. She took care of me without a word of complain and always offered me words of encouragement when I felt like giving up”,  he mentioned.

Success found its way

Dr. Ahmad Samhan now has 5 clinics running in Terengganu and he mentioned that he couldn’t have succeeded without his wife.

“Through God’s grace, I’m able to fulfill my wife’s wishes by stepping foot onto the holy land for her birthday”, he said.

At the end of his post, he advised all husbands to never take your wife for granted and always appreciate their efforts.

This post has garnered over 1,800 shares on Facebook and many netizens congratulated them on their 10th year wedding anniversary.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary doctor, your story is truly inspiring!
