It’s baffling how some parents can just abandon their child like a disposable object.

Recently, a four-year-old boy was abandoned by his father at his kindergarten after his mother had also left the family the previous month.

According to Sin Chew, the poor boy named Xiao Rong, lives in Zhejiang, China with his father. He studies in a local kindergarten.

On May 16, the father sent Xiao Rong to kindergarten in the morning as usual, and that was the last the boy saw his dad. In the afternoon, the father, who was always punctual, failed to show up.

After waiting for half an hour, the boy started crying out loud. His teacher, Looi, tried calling his father but the phone was switched off. Even an attempt to reach him through WeChat failed.

When the teachers opened Xiao Rong’s school bag, they discovered the bag was stuffed with thick winter clothes. Sensing something was wrong, the teachers took Xiao Rong home only to discover that the doors have been locked with no one at home.

Seeing that, Xiao Rong calmly told his teachers:

“My father has gone back to Gui Zhou.”

After that, he stopped making noise as if he has accepted the cold hard truth that his father has abandoned him.

The teacher soon lodged a police report and took Xiao Rong in, in the mean time.

The next day, another kindergarten teacher tried calling Xiao Rong’s mother who had run away from home last month. But the response the mother gave was absolutely mind-boggling.

Instead of rushing back to claim her son, she pushed the responsibility to the father, saying that she might get beaten up if she went back. On the other hand, the father pointed out that if the mother refused to come home, he will not care about the son anymore.

On the third day, the police finally tracked down Xiao Rong’s parents and discovered that the family has been having domestic issues. Police also discovered that the mother found a new job in Gui Zhou while the father had returned to his hometown.

Both parents have promised to come down to the police station to reconcile and take Xiao Rong back. However, as of yesterday 6pm, the parents still didn’t show up.

Until today, Xiao Rong has been abandoned for a total of eight days and it somewhat seems like he has gotten used to living without his parents.

This case is truly heartbreaking.

We hope his parents can resolve their arguments and take Xiao Rong back, as no child deserves to be treated like that!
