The flood that hit Klang Valley this evening (7 March) is not only unexpected but also more severe as compared to last year.

Heavy rain from 3.30pm this afternoon has caused massive flooding along the Jalan Awan Besar-bound part of the KESAS Highway.

As shown in the pictures below, over half of the lanes were flooded and caused massive traffic at the toll plaza which stretched for a few kilometres long!

According to a 23-second video posted by Mr Chemist-Pharmacist, those who could not make it further after the toll plaza had to re-route while the other vehicles were stuck in the flood.

In the meantime, a netizen who posted about the flood at the toll plaza revealed the incident chronologically. At about 4:08pm, the rain continued to pour and the toll plaza had started to flood. Less than 20-minutes later, the vehicles were stuck as most of them could not make it further.

Around 4:40pm, some kind-hearted motorists started to help the other drivers by moving the hurdles away so that they can make an emergency U-turn. 40-minutes later, the rain had slowly stopped but the congestion at the toll plaza was still massive. The road was eventually passable around 5:45pm when the water started to recede.

The flood is certainly shocking and if you’re still stuck in the office, do keep an eye on the traffic condition through traffic apps!
