Fireworks may be illegal in Malaysia, but the authorities have allowed the sales of 36 types of fireworks for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations. But, that doesn’t mean we should take that for granted.

As according to the Info Roadblock JPJ/POLIS Facebook page, hordes of police officers can be seen descending upon the Perumahan Awam Seri Perak in Bandar Baru Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, after irresponsible parties had caused a disturbance with fireworks.

When police arrived, they even threw fireworks at officers.

Fireworks 1

They wrote, “Played with fireworks until it disturbed other residents. PDRM officers arrived after receiving complaints from the residents. But, what is most regrettable, is that they were brave enough to throw firecrackers at the officers.”

Fireworks 2

Such behaviour should not be tolerated as not only did the irresponsible party serve as a disturbance to other residents in the area but they were also uncooperative with law enforcement officers so much so that they felt brave enough to throw firecrackers at officers, endangering them.

We genuinely hope that the officers on the scene managed to catch those responsible.
