Remember the famous Penang uncle’s Char Kuey Teow we covered a few days ago? The one people are willing to line up for an hour just to taste his delicious Kuey Teow?

Well, it looks like the Raya holidays are taking on toll on this 76-year-old man because he took 10 days off. And you can bet everyone is distraught!

In a recent post by Facebook page Smartdory, it showed a sign stating that his stall will be closed for 10 days, from June 24 to July 3. Amusingly, it was captioned, “UNCLE KENOT TAHAN THE STRESS. PLEASE BE KIND.”

The famous Siam Road Char Koay Teow gained even more popularity after it was featured in the Top 50 World Street Food Masters.

What’s more, the elderly stall owner Tan Chooi Hong pleaded customers to stop spreading news about him because he is unable to cope with the overwhelming daily demand.

According to the Star, his stall got so popular that you may even have to wait for 3 hours before you can get a taste of those heavenly Char Koay Teow (CKT)!

If you’re not sure how popular this humble road side stall is, well let me tell you, there’s actually a kopitiam that’s dedicated to him man! The kopitiam known as Hock Ban Hin cafe does not house any other food stalls but serves drinks to customers that are waiting for their CKT.

This stall is particularly famous because this uncle has some serious skillz, anddddd also because he actually uses charcoal fire to fry his kuey teow!

So guys, if you’re in Penang, you may wanna skip it for the time being. Have mercy on the uncle’s soul lah!
