A family in Taiping, Perak experienced the nightmare of their lives when a GIANT python hidden inside the ceiling fell onto the couch in their house.

In a Facebook post by the Civil Defense Force (APM) in Taiping, a team of 7 personnel was deployed to the house immediately after they received a report about the slithering reptile.

The python, which the team estimated to be more than 10 feet long, was believed to have sneaked into the house from the oil palm plantation and sought shelter in the ceiling. However, APM is unsure how long the python had been there before the ceiling collapsed and the family found the snake “resting” on the sofa.

APM also said the process of capturing the reptile was not easy as it slithered its way across the house to escape, including towards the bathroom before the personnel managed to lock it in a cage.

The family didn’t bother much about the sounds coming from the ceiling

APM also revealed that the family had heard noises from inside the ceiling, but did not make a big deal out of it thinking it was just animals crawling around, which happens sometimes.

However, when the huge python made an appearance, they didn’t wait long to call for help.

The captured python will be released back into the wild.

Fortunately, no death or injury was reported. If you ever encounter a wild animal, call authorities immediately and do not attempt to remove the animal yourself.
