A recent post has caught the attention of many Malaysians after a customer allegedly caused a scene and threatened a worker at a popular nasi kandar restaurant in Penang.

According to Nasi Kandar Sulaiman‘s admin, the customer had come to place an order but suddenly walked into the serving area to choose the dishes himself.

The customer allegedly threatened to assault the worker

The worker told the man that he was not allowed to enter the restricted area. However, the man immediately became upset, shouting, “Don’t you know who I am?

As the situation escalated, the eatery’s admin said they stepped in to calm him down. The man eventually took his rice and sat down to eat, but continued acting aggressively.

“He got angry with the staff and caused a huge scene. I stepped in to calm him down, and even while he was eating, he kept acting angry and taking photos of the worker,” the post read.

After finishing his meal, the man allegedly continued shouting and even threatened to beat up the worker. The admin then calculated his bill and asked him to pay, but the man picked up his belongings and tried to leave without settling it.

“After I added up the bill and asked him to pay, he just brushed it off and went back to his seat. A little while later, he picked up his bag and started walking out as if everything was settled,” stated the admin.

Alleged dine and dash attempt

As the man tried to leave, the admin ran after him and told him that he still hadn’t paid for his meal. However, the man insisted that he had already settled the bill.

“I ran after him and told him he hadn’t paid yet. He immediately got angry again and insisted, ‘Didn’t I already pay just now?’ I told him he hadn’t given me any money, but he kept insisting that he had,” the admin wrote.

The admin then informed the man that they could review the shop’s CCTV footage. Upon hearing this, he immediately paid his bill and left.

“Dealing with people like this is exhausting. First, he acted like a gangster and caused chaos in the shop. Then he tried to leave without paying. I think causing a scene was part of his tactic to intimidate us so we’d be too afraid to stop him when he walked out. He forgot that we have CCTV in the shop.

“People like this really do exist. Other businesses should be careful if someone like this comes into their shop,” the admin added.
