Just 2 days ago, Uncle Kentang was admitted into the hospital after testing positive for Covid-19. He was also classified as category 4A which means he needed to be oxygenated.

Yesterday (9 February), Uncle Kentang took to his Facebook page to share a heartwarming incident. It is revealed that the little boy who he used to protect 15 years ago from bullies turned out to be his doctor who performed X-Rays on his chest recently following his Covid-19 diagnosis.

Back then, the doctor was not only a quiet boy but was also a victim of bully in Subang Jaya and Uncle Kentang protected him from a bunch of bullies. Time passed and he is now a pulmonologist (a physician who specialises in the respiratory system) who had graduated from the UK.

He is currently a practising doctor at a hospital in Singapore and also a researcher of the Covid-19 virus.

“He had checked the X-Ray scans of my lungs and gave me a thumbs-up as he told me there is nothing much to be worried about,” Uncle Kentang said.

He expressed his surprise and gratitude to the doctor who he addresses as Dr Chong as he is shocked that fate has brought them back together again after helping the doctor 15 years ago.

In another post of his yesterday, Uncle Kentang also revealed that he has been discharged from the hospital and is currently undergoing quarantine at home until 14 February. He is expected to be back at work on his birthday (16 February).

In the meantime, he expressed his gratitude to everyone who had prayed and wished him well.

“I never thought that thousands of people would pray for me, including the people in the surau. Thank you everyone.”

It is certainly interesting and heartening to uncover what fate has in store for us sometimes. We wish Uncle Kentang and everyone who is affected by the virus a speedy recovery!
