The Covid-19 virus brought on various new changes to our lifestyles.

From wearing masks when going out in public to checking in at locations, we’re slowly getting used to the changes happening around us.

Well, here’s another change. From today onwards (1 October 2020), those who park their cars within Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (WPKL) will have to use an application and e-wallets to pay for parking instead of using the parking meters found near parking bays, as according to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall.

They wrote, “The new normal for paying for parking in WPKL. The new method for paying for parking on the streets of WPKL is only by using applications, starting 1 October, 2020. There is no more machine payment methods. Adjust yourself accordingly.”

They shared that the applications that can be used include:

  • EZ Smart Park
  • Flexiparking
  • Wilayah Parking
  • M-Cash

They are also working towards integrating Boost and the Touch ‘n Go e-wallet for more convenient options to pay for parking.

This way, especially since it’s the Covid-19 season, those parking their cars in KL will not have to touch the parking meters that have been touched by countless others.
