Calling all Klang Valley millennials! Guinness is throwing yet another incredibly anticipated event at The Gasket Alley, and this time, it’s to celebrate the world-renowned St. Patrick’s Day! Anyone who’s anyone would know that St. Patrick’s Day is one of Ireland’s most celebrated cultural events where the streets and bars are practically painted green.

This year, thanks to Guinness, Malaysia is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day too and it’s going to be bigger and better! Don’t believe us? Here’s what you can expect at this two-day Guinness St. Patrick’s Festival in March:

1. Dance and sing along to live music

Who doesn’t love a good live performance? It gets you in a better mood and everyone loves music! Well, at this year’s Guinness St. Patrick’s Festival, you can expect amazing bands and singers including Jumero, Kaya, Ryot Jones, Diplomats of Drums, Kyoto Protocol, An Honest Mistake, and more who will be performing right before your eyes as you enjoy a pint of good ol’ Guinness.

2. Enjoy lots of food and drinks including Guinness Smoked Beef Ribs and Guinness Baileys Ice Cream Floats

How incredibly mouth-watering do these menu items sound? The best part is, there’s plenty more where that came from at The Gasket Alley. Tons of delicious Guinness-infused foods, as well as cold, creamy Guinness stouts for you to enjoy.

Furthermore, some of the most sought after restaurants and cafes in the Klang Valley will be present here and they include Bacon It, Makhan by Kitchen Mafia, The Ice Cream Bar, and many others. YUM!!!

3. Laugh your worries away at a live comedy show

We all need a good laugh every once in a while to get our endorphins pumping. Well, if this is you, one of the founders of One Mic Stand and also one of Malaysia’s most loved comedians – Prakash Daniel – will be at the event to help you forget about all your worries and your strife. But be warned; laughter-induced stomach aches may follow.

4. Get a fresh new haircut or a clean shave at the Arthur’s Den

Looking to get an undercut or a classic pompadour? Maybe you need a quick shave to tame that magnificent beard of yours? Well, you can get all the pampering you need right here. Just look out for Arthur’s Den where you can treat yourself to a new hairdo and walk away feeling fresh and ready to take on the rest of the night. Also don’t worry, because you’ll be in good hands as hair stylists from The Infamous Cutz will be the ones giving you your fresh, new look.

Additionally, other participating outlets you can find at Arthur’s Den include Dirt Army (spruce up your aged and dirty sneakers here), Beard On (speak with consultants on the finest men’s care products), and many more!

5. Feeling audacious? Then consider getting inked at the tattoo parlour

With years of professional experience, the tattoo artists from Electric Dreams Tattoo Collective will be at this year’s St. Patrick’s Festival ready to ink on some insane designs on you and your friends. Choose from pre-designed tattoos including Harp, Bulldog or Toucan designs and customise them slightly if you want to!

6. Think you’re the king (or queen) of drinking challenges? Give the Long Bar Challenge a try then!

All you need to do is buy two sets of Guinness which will entitle you to one entry to the Long Bar Challenge.

For this, you’ll basically need to slide a Guinness bottle as far as you can along the 16-foot bar. The further your bottle slides, the higher your points (which range between 10 and 100 points). You will be judged by the Guinness Brand Ambassador, Cian Hulm himself.

The player with the highest accumulated points at the end of each day will emerge the grand prize winner who will walk away with a pair of tickets to Dublin for Guinness X Meatopia! Other prizes include Guinness-inspired Toucan, Bulldog or Harp tattoo vouchers, shoe customisation vouchers and more. OMG!!!

7. Experience and master the two-part pour with the Guinness Brand Ambassador

In case you’re unsure of what the two-part pour is, it’s basically filling up a glass with Guinness draught tilted at 45-degrees until it is three-quarters full, then allowing the surge to settle before filling up the glass completely. This prevents bubbles and helps to ensure a rich, creamy head at the top.

At this year’s event, you’ll be able to catch the Irish Guinness Brand Ambassador himself – Cian Hulm – doing the two-part pour right before your eyes. You can even try doing it yourself!

8. Take part in the largest Sláinte (Irish toast) in Malaysia with the Guinness Brand Ambassador too

A Sláinte is basically like doing the “Yam Seng” at Chinese wedding dinners but in Irish. This March, you can take part in possibly the largest Sláinte in Malaysia together with Cian Hulm and cheers with friends, family and strangers alike!

How enticing does this year’s St. Patrick’s Festival sound? And it’s all thanks to Guinness Stout!

Be sure to mark your calendars though, because this thrilling event is happening over ONE weekend only, and that’s between 16 and 17 March 2019!
