Budget 2024: Anwar Pays Tribute to Fallen Hero Blake, Allocates RM5 Mil to Improve Uniform Bodies’ K9 Unit

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar during his tabling of Budget 2024 in Parliament today took a moment to mention and pay respect to the fallen Batang Kali landslide K9 hero Blake which had to be euthanised on 18 September after its battle with lymphoma cancer.

Anwar said that the fallen canine from the Malaysian Fire & Rescue Department (JPBM) K9 unit had contributed a lot to our country.

Accordingly, under Budget 2024, the government has agreed to improve the facilities and medical treatments for JBPM’s K9 unit.

Specifically, RM5 million will be allocated to improve the JBPM K9 unit, as well as to increase the number of K9 dogs for JBPM, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Royal Malaysian Customs Department.
