Bean Curd Factory In SG Suspends Operations Because Of Pest Infestation
A food manufacturer in Singapore has been ordered to suspend operations due to a widespread of pest infestations found on the factory’s premise.
Discovered during an inspection, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) found that the factory, situated at the Jurong Food Hub, was poorly maintained and was infested with roaches, drain flies and a dead rodent.
In an official statement released by SFA, “In the interest of public health, SFA directed the licensee to rectify the lapses and take measures to improve the cleanliness of its premises.”
“Food safety is a joint responsibility, as food can be contaminated anywhere along the food chain.”
If by any chance you come across this tofu brand in your next trip to the supermarket, let’s try to avoid it for the time being.
Better safe than sorry.
