What is up with Malaysians and their preference in hurting animals?

Earlier today, we reported that there is someone shooting stray cats in Bandar Sri Damansara, and now we’ve found out that someone had beaten up a poor little Beagle with a golf club.

The Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia (SAFM) took to their Facebook page to showcase the poor beagle.

They wrote, “Beaten until bloody with a golf club! SAFM received a report where an individual had beaten up a Beagle with a golf club. The dog can be seen to be badly injured and bleeding from the head. This incident is believed to have happened at Pandan Perdana 1/8 on Monday (26 October).”

Netizens believe that since the dog has a collar with a tag, it must have an owner and could have run away and gotten lost when the incident happened.

“SAFM condemns such cruel acts. We would like to remind everyone that the act of cruelty to any animal is against the Animal Welfare Act 2015 and can be prosecuted. If convicted of an offense, a fine of up to RM100,000 or three years imprisonment or both can be imposed.”

SAFM is now looking for any witnesses to this crime.

“In this regard, SAFM requests witness to appear and provide further evidence to help us to take action. We ask for the cooperation of witnesses to jointly bring the offender to justice,” they added.

We genuinely hope that the person who beat up the poor dog is brought to justice soon. No animal deserves to be beaten like that.
