Well, this is something you don’t hear on a normal day!

The Malay Mail just reported that a group of masked men robbed the Customs Department’s Narcotics Unit in Kampung Jijan, Nilai with just sticks as their weapons. All we ask is – how did they pull it off?

How Gif

According to the report, the robbers also managed to run away with seized drugs worth RM30 million. Well, the amount is crazy!

A police source revealed that about 10 fully-masked bandits entered the Customs’ area in two four-wheel-drive vehicles at around 3am on Sunday (5 August 2018).

At that point in time, only two guards were on duty and they were beaten up by some of the bandits, tied up with masking tape and left at their guard house.

The source was quoted as saying,

“The robbers then proceeded towards the building where (the) seized drugs were kept inside a container.”

“They quickly managed to gain entry into one of the container and took away the drugs that were stashed inside 80 boxes.”

“The boxes were loaded into the two four-wheel-drive vehicles, and they left within minutes.”

After the quick robbery, the guards – who were both in their 50s – managed to break free from their bonds at around 5am and hastily rang up their employer to alert them of the incident. Their employer reported the robbery to the authorities.

The source added, “One of the suspects told the guard they were there to ‘take back the drugs that were taken from them’,”. However, the source shared that the police are trying to find out if it’s a possible inside job.

The source then continued,

“The robbers knew where to look, there were several containers but they kind of knew which one contained the drugs. “

Hmm…sounds fishy.

Tenor 1

As of now, a police report has been filed at the Nilai police headquarters and Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Noor Azam Jamaluddin will most likely release a statement on this matter later today (6 August 2018).

IMHO, this heist sounds like something straight out of a drug cartel movie!

Nevertheless, it’s very concerning that a group of people could break in the Customs Department so easily. Hopefully, the authorities will take some serious action on the matter.
