Malaysia’s men’s doubles pairing, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik (World ranking: 3) will not be moving forward to the finals of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

This comes after the duo had lost to China’s Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang (World ranking: 1) in the first round (19-21) and third round (17-21), though they amazingly won the second round (21-15).

Despite the loss, the duo’s efforts should be commended as their determination showed prominently in their battle, and they have made Malaysia proud.

Aaron and Wooi Yik still have a fighting chance to earn a bronze medal, should they win the bronze medal match against Denmark’s Astrup Kim and Rasmussen Anders Skaarup (World ranking: 2). This match will take place on Sunday (August 4) at 9pm.

Do stay tuned for more updates.
