A group of 9 people ended up in a hospital after spending merely an hour at a party that served alcohol and dog meat in Tuyen Quang, Vietnam.
According to a report by Tuoi Tre News, the group was rushed to a hospital after they developed sore throats, headaches, nausea and dizziness.
They were diagnosed with corrosive substance poisoning
The party was organised by a family who hosted around 80 people at 6pm on Saturday (March 15), and by 7pm, the group had started to feel sick.
It is believed that some of them fell ill due to the alcohol that was being served in plastic bottles previously used to contain a disinfectant solution used for sterilizing livestock barns.
Doctors later diagnosed them with corrosive substance poisoning and the group had to undergo gastric lavage, which is also known as stomach pumping.
The group is currently in stable condition and has since been discharged from the hospital.
The doctors also advised against reusing containers that previously held chemical substances to store alcohol and warned of the dangers of consuming low-quality alcohol.
