57yo Perak Man Arrested for Allegedly Molesting Male Rider Who Delivered Food to His Home

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) yesterday confirmed that a 57-year-old man in Tapah, Perak was arrested on Thursday (24 August) for allegedly molesting a p-hailing rider who delivered food to his house in Sungkai.

In a statement by the Tapah District Police, the victim, a 34-year-old man filed a police report following the incident and the suspect was arrested by the police on the same day.

Tapah District Police Chief, Supt Mohd Naim Asnawi said that the incident happened at 9.30pm on Thursday, whereby the victim alleged that the suspect molested him by holding his private parts and kissing his cheek.

Mohd Naim asserted,

“The suspect was arrested at 10.30pm, the same day. After the investigation was carried out, the suspect was released on police bail,”

The Tapah District Police Chief added that the case is currently being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force to a person with intent to outrage modesty.

If convicted under the provision, the suspect may face up to 10 years in jail or a fine or with whipping or any two of such punishments.
