A recent video has gone viral after a teenage boy was confronted by members of the public following an alleged dangerous driving incident in Penang.
In the video, the boy can be seen sitting inside the car he was driving as a member of the public scolds him, while another visibly damaged car can be seen nearby.


Teen allegedly drives against traffic before crashing into two cars
Following the incident, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has opened an investigation into the 14-year-old boy, who was involved in two separate accidents near Taman Chai Leng, Perai, on 15 September.
In a statement, Seberang Perai Tengah District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Aminuddin Raja Abdullah said the incident happened at around 4:50 PM.
According to him, the teenager was driving from Lorong Kurau 23 towards Jalan Kurau 1 when he reportedly crashed into a car parked by the roadside.


The teenager then continued driving before allegedly entering a one-way road against traffic at Lebuh Kurau 5, where he crashed into another car travelling in the correct direction.
“The accident occurred when the car driven by the 14-year-old teenager was travelling from Lorong Kurau 23 towards Jalan Kurau 1 before crashing into a car that was parked on the roadside.
“The teenager then continued driving before the vehicle he was driving allegedly entered a one-way road against traffic at Lebuh Kurau 5 and crashed into another car that was travelling in the correct direction,” he said.
Nik Aminuddin said the accidents resulted in damage to all three vehicles involved, but thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving, with investigations still ongoing.
