People say life is short because you never know what could happen at any time. Hence, that is why you got to seize the day and take chances while you still can.

For one 13-year-old girl in Sabah, her life may, unfortunately, be shorter than most. So, Malaysians are stepping in to help fulfil her dreams before it is too late.

The Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia (CWS Malaysia) took to their Facebook account to showcase the photoshoot they conducted with 13-year-old aspiring model, Jessica Magdeline, who has end-stage renal failure.

Shoot 1

They wrote, “Sabah’s own Sumandak (which means lady in the Kadazandusun ethnic language) from Tamparuli, Tuaran, Jessica Magdeline shows off her modelling skills as she confidently takes the spotlight in front of the camera.”

“Jessica, who suffers from end-stage renal failure, got her wish fulfilled by Talent Shop Sabah and Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia, where she got to dress up, have her makeup done and model for the cameras, which kept clicking non-stop.”

The adorable girl, who is the youngest in her family raised by a single father, has always wished to one day become a model.

“Given her difficult social circumstances, her chances of receiving a renal transplant (the curative treatment for kidney failure) are slim,” they explained.

So, in order to at least make her dream of becoming a model come true, CWS Malaysia also took her and her sister shopping for suitable photoshoot attire.

“We are glad that we had the opportunity to grant Jessica her wish. The society continues to grant wishes to ailing children across the country, especially in Sabah and Sarawak,”

“She had a good time at the photoshoot with our volunteers, Anita and Datuk Susan Chang, and nurse Sister Arlene, who also joined in for some photos with her,” shared CWS Malaysia president Teoh Teik Hoong.

We’re so glad to see just how happy Jessica looked at the photoshoot!
