This 11-year-old is quick-witted!

NST wrote that a young girl managed to escape a dangerous situation because she was quick-witted enough to defend herself by using the nearest weapon she could find – which is an ice cream stick. The suspect, who is a private taxi driver, was supposed to drive the victim to her home from Pasar Sayur Kudat but instead, he drove his Perodua Viva to Tembok Panuwasa.

Following that, he tried to force the girl to have sex with him but she said no and warned that she would file a police complaint. Kudat police chief Superintendent Mohd Firdaus Francis Abdullah said,

“The suspect then tried to cover the girl’s mouth but she put up a fight. She managed to escape after she poked his eye with an ice cream stick.”

After harming her attacker, the poor girl sprinted away from the scene, and she reunited with her grandma at the market. Firdaus then elaborated,

“Initial checks found a scratch on the victim’s right eye and she also complained of facial pain. Based on her statement, the suspect is an old man with a skinny face, grey hair and beard.”

The victim further added that her attacker was also sporting brown shorts, but she couldn’t remember his shirt colour.

As for now, the case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 and the police have currently launched a man-hunt to search for the creep. Hopefully, they will quickly nab the man and prosecute him accordingly.

On that note, we also are glad that the girl managed to save herself; kudos to her for thinking quickly and acting upon it. You go, girl!
