If you love buying Ikea products for your house then their new initiative will definitely benefit you greatly. What is it, you ask?

NST reported that Ikea has extended their 100-day return policy to 365 days. That’s a whole year, guys! They have begun this initiative to give their customers more time to exchange or return the products they have purchased if they aren’t satisfied with any of them.

Therefore, Ikea believes that this new return policy will allow their customers to make better decisions for their homes without pressure, thus making the whole experience a lot more fun. Yay! Shopping for our home just became less stressful.

“In today’s digital age with well-informed customers, we have to proactively reassess our current policies in order to deliver a positive experience.”

“At the end of the day, we want to provide our customers (with) the best end-to-end journey at Ikea and our new return policy is a step in that direction,” said Ikea Southeast Asia Deputy Managing Director Mike King in a statement that was released today (19 July 2018).

With the implementation of this new initiative, Ikea Malaysia will be the first home furnishing retailer to have a 365-day return policy for their customers.

Like any other return policy requirement, you need to produce the original receipt of purchase when you want to return the product. Then, the refund will be processed in the same mode of payment made during the purchase of the product.

However, do keep in mind that this policy doesn’t apply to items like:

  • Used bedding
  • Plants
  • Goods ordered to specifications (custom-made worktops, damaged items etc.)
  • Products bought from the As-is section

Apart from the items from the sections mentioned above, the rest of them are subjected to the new return policy.

Well, this is a great initiative since it will give us more time to carefully plan how we would like our homes to look like. That said, if you need more information about Ikea’s exchange and return policy, you can always head over to their website to clear your doubts.
