Although the country is currently struggling with the Covd-19 pandemic, the vaccination program for the people has started to pick up some speed. For those who have not yet got an appointment date to get the vaccine shot, please be patient and hopefully you will get it soon. Speaking of vaccine injection, there are important things that need to be given attention to so that the injection process runs smoothly like bringing your IC and most importantly, wearing appropriate clothes.

Maybe anyone who wears a short-sleeved shirt will not have a problem, but for those who wear long sleeves, you need to make sure that the sleeves are easy to roll up. But what about those who might have to wear baju kurung? Well, a Twitter user by the name of Nadhiratul Husna shared that she sewed her own vaccination-friendly baju kurung for her mother who will receive the vaccine injection soon.

The baju kurung that she sewed has a zipper on the sleeves so that it could be easily opened for injection. The idea to sew the baju came after her mother complained that all the sleeves of the tops that she has could not be rolled up.

She shared with WOB that she had quit her job earlier this year and is currently a full-time housewife. So now that she has enough time to pursue her passion in sewing, Husna explained that,

“I have been interested in sewing for so long. Last year I managed to save up to buy a sewing machine. So now I can turn this passion into something more while taking care of my children because I’m tired of just staying at home without doing nothing much. I used to be so busy at the office.”

Husna revealed that her parents initially were a bit worried about taking the vaccine. Fortunately, both of them are not influenced by the fake information spread by anti-vaxxers to scare everyone and she managed to convince them to take the shot. Kudos to Husna for going the extra mile and using her skills to ensure that her mother can get vaccinated comfortably. Hopefully more and more Malaysians realize the importance of getting themselves vaccinated as we head toward our goal of achieving herd immunity by the end of the year.
