There are many things that Malaysians road users tend to avoid when on the road such as potholes, Mat Rempits and learner drivers, aka ‘L’ drivers.

But, Malaysians are now defending an ‘L’ driver after they apparently suddenly pulled the brake while on a road, allegedly causing a 5-car chain collision.

The 7ujuhviral Instagram page shared footage of the aftermath of the incident.

They wrote, “The driving license student changed lanes and suddenly pulled the brake. If there’s a teacher next to them, even they wouldn’t be able to do anything about this. What if the student was driving alone?”

In the video showcased, the ‘L’ driver’s vehicle could be seen at the front as a car collided into their back.

But, what makes this worse is that there are also 3 other cars that slammed into each other from the back due to the sudden stop.

While some blamed the ‘L’ driver for suddenly braking, a majority of people pointed out that the cars slammed into the backs of each other because they were following too closely behind and not holding a safe distance from each other and the ‘L’ driver.

Accident 1

“They hit from behind, the ones who are in the wrong and will be summoned are the ones who hit from behind.”

Accident 2

“(The ‘L’ driver) is learning how to drive. The rest all have licenses. The ones who have licenses, why were you not careful? Why were you following closely behind?”

Accident 3

“The ones who hit from behind and followed too closely are in the wrong. So far, I haven’t seen lessons on driving fast.”

Accident 4

“That’s why the (L) car has warnings to keep a distance. If YOUR cars were that close, then this is what happens.”

You can check out the video here.

What would you have done if you were in the ‘L’ driver’s shoes? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
