Things were so different one year ago…

All those who felt that 2020 was a bad year probably feel nostalgic for it after living through six months in 2021. With the ever-fluctuating Covid-19 cases and borders looking like they will remain closed, it’s hard to predict when things will ever be normal again. On top of this, the financial, mental and physical distress almost every Malaysian is going through has not been easy.

It’s hard to believe that simply one year ago on this exact date (1 July 2020), Malaysia had a shining ray of hope when we recorded 0 local Covid-19 Cases.

0 Covid 19 Cases

It’s definitely a far cry from the 6,276 cases we recorded yesterday (30 June) and Malaysians can’t help but feel nostalgic for the past in the comments section.

“KKM, let’s achieve this once again. Stay strong and hang on! Sending all my love and blessings to the frontliners.”

What’s even more ironic is that one year ago, Malaysia was recognised as one of the most successful countries in the world in handling and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic. Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the success was due to the hard work and cooperation from the government and the entire Malaysian society.

Since then, many things have gone haywire and it’s unfortunate to say that most Malaysians know who’s responsible for this. It’s sad to see how some people care less about the increasing death count and more about their personal agenda.

Let us know what you think of this!
