The destruction of forests and natural reserves has misplaced plenty of wild animals and led to them appearing in places where we would normally never see them.

From tapirs to elephants, it appears as if almost every week, there happens to be a wild animal sighting in our neighbourhoods and residential areas.

Similarly, in a video which has gone viral, a pair of elephants was spotted trying to enter a house.

It was reported that the incident had happened at a residential area in Kluang, Johor.

Unexpected guests

The video has since gone viral on social media. Plenty of netizens were left amused at the sight and made jokes about it in the comments section of the post.

“Coming to celebrate Raya so early. The fasting month has not even started Mr elephant.”

Another user pretended to comment in the POV of the elephant and wrote, “I greeted you but you didn’t answer, forgive me for destroying your fence because we just wanted to stay the night.”

On the other hand, some netizens expressed concern over the elephants surprise appearance.

“In Kluang, it has become common for elephants to enter into residential areas. We can’t blame them because we humans are the ones messing about with their habitat.”

“It’s not even just elephants but other wild animals such as bears, tigers, monkeys and more who have all lost their homes,” added the user.

Although it may seem like a laughing matter, such incidents must be looked at seriously as it is dangerous for both the elephants and the residents in the area.
