UPDATE: ALL power disruption has been fixed and the cause is due to a malfunctioning appliance, as explained on TNB’s Facebook page.

Just over 2 hours ago, many areas in Malaysia reported a power cut-off causing public inconvenience. Many traffic lights were also out of service due to the power outage, causing Klang Valley Roads to be in a mess.

A video circulating widely on WhatsApp group chats show a TNB branch located in Yong Peng, Johor suffering an explosion and it’s causing a major blackout all around the city.

TNB has yet to respond to this matter and has only released a statement mentioning that they’re currently working hard to restore the power.
