A businessman has been arrested by the police on 1 May, after hitting and threatening to shoot his personal driver.

According to Harian Metro, Kajang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan said that they received a report from a 28-year-old man who informed that he was threatened by his 53-year-old employer when he was at the suspect’s house in Country Height.

“The incident happened at 1.22am when the victim and the suspect arrived at his house after returning from Kuala Lumpur. The victim and the suspect had an argument and at that time, his employer threatened to shoot the man if he left the house,” he said.

Mohd Zaid added that the suspect threw abusive words at the victim and kicked him in the shoulder.

He said the suspect also damaged the victim’s motorcycle and forced him to ask for help from the public to escape before coming to the police station to lodge a report.

“Following that, a team of policemen from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kajang District Police Headquarters (IPD) arrested the suspect at the Kajang IPD Criminal Investigation Division office at 4.50pm, 1 May.

The suspect was given a two-day remand order which started yesterday and will last until tomorrow for further investigation according to Section 323/506/427/341 of the Penal Code,” he said.

He said the investigation was carried out in accordance with the section for causing injuries, making criminal threats, committing acts of treachery, and wrongly obstructing against the victim.

Mohd Zaid has requested that members of the public who have any information on the incident contact the case investigating officer, Sergeant Mohamad Khir at 014-5307540 or the nearest police station.
