Two university students in Johor were caught by the state religious department (JAINJ) for Khalwat after they were seen committing indecent acts in a car.

According to JAINJ, the students are aged 23 and 26, and hail from Perak and Penang, respectively. The students were caught in a car with the air-conditioner and engine running, with the windows of the car also tinted.

When confronted, the students claimed they were doing study revisions and pleaded with the officers not to tell their parents because they were still studying.

The female student said that she was merely revising with the male student about the studies that she didn’t understand. JAINJ added that over time, they had received numerous reports from the public following many incidents of ‘broken cars’ with their engines running in the middle of the night in the area.

The pair was caught in a car at the Taman Universiti car park, Parit Raja, on the night of August 5, reported Kosmo!.

They will be brought to the Syariah Court for further action, and the case is being investigated in accordance with the Johor Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment.
