This morning (10 December), a video of a man trying to break a mosque vault started circulating online. The incident happened at the Nurul Iman Mosque, Gunung Keriang, Alor Setar, Kedah.

In the 3.31-minute CCTV footage, the man wearing the face mask seemed to be trying to pull the money out from the top of the vault.

A few minutes later, a man came from behind and help him. From the video, it can be seen that the thieves already prepared a bag full of tools that can be used to break the vault.

After the first attempt was unsuccessful, they managed to break into it the second time around and put all the money in a black bag. At the end of the video, they once again tried to open a small vault that is located on the other wall.

It is unclear as to whether they were aware that the CCTV was in the room as one of them can be seen lowering his face mask while wandering around before opening the vault filled with money.
