TikTok Influencer Murdered & Burnt Near a River in Kuala Kangsar

The charred body of a woman found and believed to have been killed by a river in Kampung Talang Hulu in Kuala Kangsar on 31 May 2022 has been identified.

The victim was identified to be Pavethira A/P Thilak, a TikTok star and influencer. This came following her 19-year-old brother’s identification of the clothing and accessories she was wearing when found at the crime scene.

Cause of death revealed

Perak Police Chief, Datuk Nior Faridalathrash Wahid said that upon receiving a call at 3:05pm from a passerby who discovered the body, forensics, dog detectors units (K9) and the Perak Police Headquarters Contingent were sent to the scene.

According to the post mortem of the victim’s body conducted at Kuala Kangsar Hospital, the victim died from blunt trauma to the head as well as severe injuries from being burnt.

This came after the discovery of a blood-stained piece of concrete near the victim’s body which is believed to be the murder weapon.

 

Her boyfriend has been brought in for questioning

A 20-year-old man, believed to be the victim’s boyfriend has also been taken into police custody to give his statement.

“The man has been remanded for seven days starting 4 June 2022 to assist in the investigation,” said Nior.

The funeral has been carried out

Meanwhile, the funeral of the deceased has been carried out at the crematorium according to Indian customs and traditions.

Whilst some family members and friends in attendance could not hold back their sadness, others appeared calm as soon as Pavethira’s body was brought in. They gave their final respects to the deceased before the funeral was completed.

Lawyers have been appointed to bring justice

The family of the deceased has appointed Mohamed Ashmeer Bin Mohamed Ashrof from Ashmeer Ashrof’s law firm as their watching brief lawyer.

In statement from the lawyers which was given to WORLD OF BUZZ, Ashmeer said, “I have been appointed by Pavethira’s family to help in giving legal advice to the family in preparation for the case proceedings.”

The case will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
