As of yesterday (August 15), Datuk Seri Paduka TPr. Dr. Maimunah binti Mohd Sharif was appointed as the mayor of Kuala Lumpur, solidifying her place in history as the capital’s first female mayor.

But, here’s the best part: Kuala Lumpur is now being run by 3 women!

Bayan Baru MP, Sim Tze Tzin, recently took to his Twitter page to praise the fact that Kuala Lumpur is now run by 3 women.

These 3 women are:

  • Datuk Seri Paduka TPr. Dr. Maimunah binti Mohd Sharif – the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur
  • Dr. Zaliha binti Mustafa – Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office (Wilayah Persekutuan)
  • Datuk Indera Noridah binti Abdul Rahim – Federal Territories Department director

He wrote, “Kuala Lumpur. This is very refreshing. 3 women will be leading this global city. I personally know 2 of them. They are women with capabilities, integrity and global vision.”

“I look forward to see refreshing changes in Kuala Lumpur.”

Upon hearing that Datuk Seri Paduka TPr. Dr. Maimunah was appointed to the role of Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Dr. Zaliha congratulated her too!

“I believe that, with this appointment, she can proceed to share her experiences and contribute to the leadership of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall with full integrity, to ensure sustainable development, success and glory towards a developed and prosperous Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur,” she said.

We cannot wait to see what these 3 lady bosses have in store for improvements in Kuala Lumpur!
